TDAS project was initiated as part of “Motor Transport Management Information System” (MTMIS) Project.
Objectives
The prime objectives of the project are:
- Ensuring effective monitoring of revenue receipts
- Creating a data-hub to facilitate other agencies like Criminal Record Office, Motor Vehicle Examiner Office, Motor Registration Authority, etc.
- Providing vehicle ID number for integrating them with tax net and other transport-related databases
Modules of TDAS
The major modules covered by the project are listed below:
- Issuance of Route Permits
- Issuance of Fitness Certificates
- Body Building Workshop License
- Bus Stand License
- Goods Forwarding Agency License
- Prosecution Case Execution
- Compensation Tribunal
- Route Classification
- Integration with Other Systems (VICS, MVR, DLIMS, etc.)
Outcomes
The outcomes of the project are given below:
- Issuance of computerized route permits, licensing of bus stands, etc.
- All 36 DRTAs are connected to Centralized Automation System
- 30% increase in revenue
- Integration of route permit with vehicle fitness data
