Transport Department Automation System (TDAS)

TDAS project was initiated as part of “Motor Transport Management Information System” (MTMIS) Project.

Objectives

The prime objectives of the project are:

  • Ensuring effective monitoring of revenue receipts
  • Creating a data-hub to facilitate other agencies like Criminal Record Office, Motor Vehicle Examiner Office, Motor Registration Authority, etc.
  • Providing vehicle ID number for integrating them with tax net and other transport-related databases

Modules of TDAS

The major modules covered by the project are listed below:

  • Issuance of Route Permits
  • Issuance of Fitness Certificates
  • Body Building Workshop License 
  • Bus Stand License
  • Goods Forwarding Agency License
  • Prosecution Case Execution
  • Compensation Tribunal
  • Route Classification
  • Integration with Other Systems (VICS, MVR, DLIMS, etc.)

Outcomes

The outcomes of the project are given below:

  • Issuance of computerized route permits, licensing of bus stands, etc.
  • All 36 DRTAs are connected to Centralized Automation System
  • 30% increase in revenue
  • Integration of route permit with vehicle fitness data
